WalletHub, a personal finance website, rated Florida as the country's best state for retirement based on factors including property and income taxes, health care and cost of living in the state. Lands of America recently had more than $18 billion in land and rural real estate for sale in the Sunshine State, representing 737,967 acres of land for sale in the state. This reflects a one percent change over last month in the amount of land and property in Florida for sale. Of Florida's 67 counties, Lee County had the most land for sale. There were 2,015 acres of sold land in Florida recorded last month through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a 17 percent drop in sales activity over the month before, with a combined land value of $17 million for all property and land sold in the state. Suwannee County saw the most land sales recently in the state. In terms of size, Florida is the country's 22nd-largest state, covering an area of 65,758 square miles (42 million acres). Wildlife species to be found on land for sale in Florida include turkey, whitetail deer, quail, dove, and hog. Anglers have their pick of bass, catfish, trout, and walleye.
